Celebrating Coaching Success at Our Club

We are delighted to announce that Tracy and Claire have successfully completed and passed the Swim England Swimming Level 2 Coach course.

This achievement follows three months of intensive study, online learning, and practical coaching sessions. Their commitment and perseverance reflect the values of our club, and we are proud to have them as part of our coaching team.

Their new qualification will further strengthen the support and guidance we provide to our swimmers, ensuring continued growth and success across all levels.

🌟 COUNTIES FINALS WEEKEND ROUND‑UP! 🌟

What a fantastic weekend for our swimmers who were invited to compete at the Counties finals across Saturday and Sunday. Just to have made it that far is an incredible achievement for our small club, and every swimmer represented Melksham with pride, determination and brilliant team spirit.

A huge thank you to Charlotte, Claire and Tracy for supporting them throughout — your encouragement means so much.

👏 Well done to our swimmers:
Finley, Amelie, Max and Christopher — you all did the club proud, and together you achieved four PBs across the weekend. Outstanding work.

A special shout‑out to Max, who reached the finals on both days and delivered two superb swims on Saturday — setting a new PB in qualifying and then smashing it again in the final. A brilliant effort.

We’re incredibly proud of every swimmer who stepped up this weekend. Your hard work is paying off and your attitude is inspiring. Exciting things ahead.

A heartfelt thank you and a warm welcome 💙

After serving together as joint Chairpersons, Claire is stepping back from the role to focus fully on coaching our squad — where her energy and expertise continue to make a huge impact poolside.

We’re so grateful for Claire’s leadership, warmth, and tireless work behind the scenes. Her steady hand and clear vision helped guide the club through key moments, and her commitment to our swimmers never wavered.

Charlotte now steps into the role as sole Chairperson, bringing continuity, fresh ideas, and a deep understanding of our club’s values. We’re lucky to have her at the helm and excited for what’s ahead.

Please join us in thanking Claire and cheering Charlotte on as she takes the lead 🏊‍♀️✨

VENUE CHANGE!

🎉 Celebration Night – Venue Update 🎉

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we’ve had to change the venue for our upcoming Celebration Night.

🗓 New Location: Bowerhill Village Hall
🕕 Doors Open: 6:00pm (slightly earlier than originally planned)

Please note:
🍷 The hall doesn’t have a bar, so feel free to bring your own drinks and cups.
🗑 To help us with the clean-up, we kindly ask that you take your rubbish home at the end of the evening.

This is a key opportunity for swimmers to secure county times before the deadline!

50m / 100m / 200m of all strokes
100m / 200m IM
400m Freestyle & IM (age restricted)
💷 £7.00 per event

📌 Please read the attached meet pack carefully and take note of the ‘No faster than’ qualifying times.

No late or incomplete entries will be accepted — no exceptions.

👟 New to competing? Speak to your coach before submitting your entry for guidance on race selection.

👥 Due to coach and team manager availability, places may be limited in some sessions and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you’re interested in volunteering to help more swimmers take part, please speak to a committee member.

Melksham Swordfish - Swim England Mobile Phone Policy

As a reminder and in accordance with Swim England Wavepower the use of mobile phones and devices in the campus changing rooms during Teach to Swim, Development and Competitive Squad sessions run by MASC should not be used under any circumstances.

Mobile phone use in the changing rooms remains a concern and is in breach of the Wavepower policies that we have to adhere to as a Swim England Club. Could parents, guardians and carers of swim members remind them that mobile phones and devices are to be placed in lockers until their sessions have completed and members are ready to exit the changing rooms.

Any use of mobile devices in the changing rooms must be reported to myself as the Welfare Officer and a decision will be made as to whether or not the breach of Wavepower is a safeguarding concern.

🏊‍♀️ Gala Final Highlights – Bath Uni 🏊‍♂️

Huge congratulations to all our swimmers who competed in today’s final round of the Gala at Bath University! Your team spirit and support for one another were, as always, outstanding—we couldn’t be prouder 💙

🌟 Special shout-out to Max, who obliterated the 50m fly county time—knocking a jaw-dropping 6 seconds off! Incredible effort!

🙏 A big thank you to Claire, Linda, and Kerry for being there to support our swimmers, and to Adrian for representing the club so brilliantly in his official role.
